In the first century Greco-Roman world, the OIKOS was the household. It was more than the immediate family, it was an entire relational network. Fathers and mothers, children, siblings, cousins, but also servants and friends, community that truly communed together.

At New Community, we are seeking to live purposefully as an OIKOS. We believe in more than Sunday attendance at a religious gathering; we believe in shared life together. Relationships that show up for each other, walk beside each other, and commit to each other for the long-haul. We are greater than I.
